"Kagaku no Tomo" (Children's Science Companion) was first published in April 1969, being the very first science picture book for children in the world.

Ever since the launch, we have been carefully choosing topics and themes for this series, covering animals, plants and insects as well as wonders of the human body and mysteries found in society.

To celebrate the 40th anniversary of the series, we have made a selection from our archive of almost 500 back numbers. (Yes, we are reaching that benchmark number soon!) We have sorted the selection by themes and by popularity.
